Today in Science the children identified and classified everyday materials into different groups. The children used catalogues to sort the chosen item into the correct box, we had lots of fun and heard some great vocabulary being used!🙌👏🌟

The Great Fire of London

The children in year 2 travelled back in time, all the way to 1666!
The children displayed their thorough knowledge of the Great Fire of London and “wowed” the individual from the Fresh Water Theatre company.
The children enjoyed recreating Pudding Lane and re-enacting the Great Fire🤩

Activity Week

Today year 2 met Ottilie Robinson-Shaw, an Olympian in Freestyle Kayaking. The children learnt all about her sport and had a go at some circuit training.

Forest School

Year 2 made some chocolate smores in forest school this week! Some great memories captured of our year 2 class.

We are time experts 

We had some extra time this morning to embed our Maths learning surrounding time, we went outside onto the playground and made our own clock with chalk! The children were the minute and hour hands and took in turns showing the times that were set for them, we had some great fun!

Redditch Mosque

Year 2 visited Redditch Mosque to reflect their RE learning surrounding the Islamic faith. The children had a tour of the place of worship and explored their community by using and wearing the artefacts within the mosque. 
The children asked some brilliant questions, and a lot of prior knowledge was challenged, and new knowledge was definitely learnt! 😊

Remembrance Poetry

In English, the children explored poetry surrounding the topic of Remembrance Day, the children created their own acrostic poem and shared this to the rest of the school. What brave children we have in our Year 2 class!

DT Junk Modelling

In Design and Technology, the children have planned, designed and created their own space buggy! We used recycled plastics and paper to create our designs!

In Computing, the children have been learning about computer games and how they work, the children crated their own computer games!

In RE we have been creating our own Prayer Mats! The children have been researching different designs on the iPad's and turned these into their own creations! Well done Year 2!
